If you'd like to know how your child is progressing in class, you no longer have to wait until the end of the quarter to get a report card. You will be able to access your child's grades through the Power School portal at any time. You will also be able to print out a report card at the end of each quarter from this portal. In Kindergarten, many of the graded areas are assessed through one-on-one teacher observation and concept checks, which are done in the last few weeks of each quarter. Do not be alarmed if a graded area is blank or has a 0, this simply means that we have not covered those concepts yet or have not done those assessments yet. While a numerical score appears for your child's grade, it is much more helpful at this level to refer to the letter grade associated with the number. An 82% might not make a lot of sense in terms of Kindergarten, but you can see easily with the 'P' that your child is progressing with the skills being taught. The grading scale for K is: M - Mastery (90-100%) P- Progressing (70-89%) N - Needs Improvement (below 70%) Students in Kindergarten will be graded in the following areas: ELA (English Language Arts):
